In December 2005, the Department of Budget, Accounting and Statistics (D-BAS) began integrating and planning the gender statistics indicators for various agencies of the Taipei City Government, in accordance with the resolution of the Taipei City Gender Equality Committee (GEC, formerly known as the Committee of Women’s Rights Promotion).
In January 2022, the project was renamed from the Taipei City Government Gender Statistics System Enhancement Program to the Taipei City Government Gender Statistics Enhancement Program. In line with Taiwan's Gender Equality Policy Guidelines, the visions and spirits of the original seven domains were condensed into six domains.
The framework of gender statistics was adjusted to include the following six domains: "Power, Decision-making, and Influence," "Employment, Economy, and Welfare," "Education, Media, and Culture," "Personal Safety and Justice," "Health, Medical Services, and Care," and "Environment, Energy, and Technology."
The categorization of related gender statistics indicators was also reviewed and adjusted accordingly, allowing gender statistics data to be linked and applied in conjunction with policy guidelines.
